What are duty free products?

Products in duty-free stores are goods that are not subject to standard taxes and duties, which makes them available to travelers at international airports, ports and borders. For guidance on which items we are able to include in an order, see our article on what can and cannot be supplied duty-free, which also covers what ships most commonly order in duty-free supplies.

What duty-free products do we supply to vessels?

Each category in our duty-free range is sourced and stored to meet bonded-warehouse requirements before it reaches the vessel.

  • Spirits: a broad selection of international vodka, whisky, rum, gin and liqueurs, supplied in standard retail packaging ready for onboard bond stores.
  • Wines: red, white, rosé and sparkling wines from established European producers, ordered by the case to match crew and passenger consumption patterns.
  • Beers, including Polish beers: both international lagers and well-known Polish brands, a detail that many foreign-flagged vessels specifically request when calling at Polish ports.
  • Cigarettes and tobacco: major international cigarette brands plus rolling tobacco, packed and sealed in line with customs bond requirements.
  • Soft drinks: carbonated drinks, juices and water, typically ordered alongside provisions rather than as a standalone delivery.
  • Sweets and snacks: chocolate, confectionery and packaged snacks, popular on passenger ferries and cruise vessels with onboard retail points.

Order quantities are quoted per case or per pallet, matched to the vessel’s crew size, voyage length and, where relevant, onboard retail sales.

How duty-free ship supply works

An order starts with a request from the ship’s agent or master, specifying the products, quantities and delivery port.

We prepare the goods in our bonded stores and complete the customs documentation required to move duty-free products from warehouse to vessel.

Delivery is made directly to the vessel under customs supervision, with goods sealed until the ship is confirmed to be departing the customs territory.

This sequence keeps every delivery compliant while minimizing the time between order confirmation and goods reaching the ship.

Duty-free products and customs compliance

Duty-free eligibility depends on the vessel’s route, flag and customs status, so we confirm compliance with the ship’s agent before every order is released.

All duty-free deliveries are handled under the same quality management system that covers the rest of our operations, backed by our ISO 9001 and HACCP certifications.

We also offer technical equipment for ships to our clients, and duty-free orders are often combined with provisioning for ships in the same delivery, drawing on the 80 years of ship supply experience behind every order we handle.

Who orders duty-free supplies from us

Passenger ferries order the largest volumes, since duty-free sales are a direct revenue line for onboard shops and bars.

Cruise ships follow a similar pattern, with larger case counts driven by passenger numbers rather than crew size alone.

Cargo and container vessels order smaller, crew-focused quantities, usually alongside a standard provisioning delivery.

Ordering duty-free supplies

Send us the product list, quantities and port of call, and we will confirm availability and delivery timing before the vessel arrives.

We supply duty-free products at every port we serve, so the same order process applies whether your vessel calls at a Polish port or elsewhere on our route network.
